Greetings

Step by step to PEACE!
Warm Greetings from the Korea!
I am Magdalene Maria Myung-Suk Park, who have been elected as a Chairperson of TOPIK (Toward of Peace in Korea) at last April in 2020.

TOPIK is a non-profit organization following the 1st Worldwide Anglican Peace Conference at Mt. Geumgang and Paju City in November 2007. It had worked a humanitarian aid project to North Korea centered on Mt. Geumgang and Kaesong City area helping people in North Korea who were suffered severe economic crisis at the time.

The inter-Korean relationship has frozen up, and the exchanges between the two Koreas have loosened up since 2009. Therefore, TOPIK tried to make a new body which could work more professionally, legally, and substantially in a changed situation of the Korean Peninsula. In August 2011, TOPIK got a regal license as a humanitarian aid agency for the North Korea from the government of South Korea. It was formed not to clergy centered but to layperson centered organization to promote lay leadership in peace and reconciliation ministry.

From 2012 to the present, TOPIK has been steadily carrying out inter-Korean sharing projects, including the support project for the People's Hospital in Hamkyungbuk-do Nasun-si Sahoe-ri, North Korea. As a Peace Education and Spirituality Pilgrimage, TOPIK members have been doing a peace walking at a wounded field in near DMZ every month, where tens and thousands international soldiers were killed during the Korean War. We have also tried to continue a restoration project of the Anglican Churches in North Korea that was built before the division, and to make an East Asia Peace Network.

I have been in companionship with TOPIK from 2007 until now. I well know that many members of the Anglican Communion and The Korean Anglican Church are praying for the peaceful unification of Korean peninsula and how they are patiently waiting and encouraging the Corporation to bloom its influence. I sincerely thank the organizations and fellows that support us. We will continue to work hard to achieve peaceful coexistence and unification of the two Koreas. Therefore, by establishing a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia, we will strive to build a kingdom of God on this land. Please continue to support us and pray for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Again, my heart goes to all the people and the church who have made a relationship with TOPIK.Thank you.
Park, Myungsuk(Magdalene Maria)
